(Amish) Joe Whirry

Joe was born in Madison, Wisconsin. He started downhill racing at the ripe age of 10 at the ever fabulous Tyrol Basin, which is a whopping 300 vertical feet. With a burning desire to move out west to be in the Rocky Mountains and ski fresh powder, Joe found his way to Durango and began guiding for the SJSC in 1998. Married to Dawn they are the proud parents of two lovely boys, who aspire to be ski guides when they grow up.
